I was involved in a fundraising project through our SSW program at Canadore College, where I was part of a group that partnered with The Gathering Place. Our event was very successful in raising funds; we raised over $2000. However, we also successfully engaged our community; we connected with many local businesses that, in lieu of cash donations, provided us with various products. These products were part of a silent auction that we incorporated into our bake sale table. We felt the prize packages were a great eye-catching way to bring attention to our sale table.
